Aisha X. L. Francis Samuels, Ph.D – Associate

Ms. Francis has several years experience focused on the research, evaluation and development of major funding opportunities to in the areas of arts and culture, healthcare and youth programs. Ms. Francis works to secure funding for programming and initiatives that require close to 1 million dollars annually. As a senior associate with Community Resource Consulting, Ms. Francis is involved in prospect research, proposal conception and development, and corporation and foundation relations.

Ms. Francis serves as a Board Member for two Boston area non-profit organizations—United South End Settlements and My Sister’s Keeper. She is also a member of Women in Development of Greater Boston, the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Massachusetts, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Ms. Francis holds a Bachelor of Arts from Fisk University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa while majoring in English Literature with a minor in Women’s Studies. Ms. Francis earned her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University, where she was recognized as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow.
